Reading Abe Lincoln - Vampire Hunter right now and its great. I know its a different (I never read PP and Z) but it reads like a movie, maybe they should make that first.
Plans to bring Pride & Prejudice and Zombies into theaters remains to be an elusive venture for Lionsgate and producer Natalie Portman. Deadline has confirmed reports that the project is without a director for the third time in its development history, with helmer Craig Gillespie officially out. We've heard rumors he's been out since August but the studio remained silent on the subject until now. Previous directors who were attached to lead Seth Grahame-Smith's re-interpretation of Jane Austen's tale included helmers David O. Russell and Mike White.
So the search is on for a new director to tackle the horror tale.
No cast as of yet for the project though Emma Stone and Blake Lively have been mentioned as possibilities. At one time, it was thought that Portman would tackle the character herself though it was later confirmed that she's only on board as a producer.

aegrant, isn't Vampire Hunter being made now? I know I recall reading that Timur was on it and Mary Winstead was playing Abe's wife. Haven't heard much on it lately but I think you're getting your wish in that it'll be made first. Maybe if it's as good as we hope PP & Z will finally get on a roll
Abe Lincoln, Vampire Hunter completed principle photography in New Orleans just a few weeks ago, and is in post-production now. Just FYI. A friend worked on the picture and says it should be incredible.
It seems no one wants to be involved with this film, directors and actresses keep passing it up. To be honest I'm not sold on the whole thing either. Maybe they should just leave the book alone or wait for syfy to adapt it for one of its movie of the week, that's where I think this belongs anyway
