PACIFIC RIM: International TV Spot #3

Was that Rodan?

Here is the third international TV spot for Pacific Rim. Despite Man of Steel being so close I have to admit this has more excited. Perhaps because it is something original and not a sequel, prequel, or reboot.

Synopsis: From acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro comes Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures' Pacific Rim.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the
face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

The film features Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi, Max Martini, Rob Kazinsky, Clifton Collins Jr., and Diego Klattenhoff.

The Pacific Rim opens July 12th, 2013.

I don't know exactly why but this film doesn't feel me with excitement the way it should. I hope it's just me, I want GDT to have a big hit.

I'm totally hyped for this one.

I'm also more excited about Pacific Rim than Man of Steel.  I don't care if the story and the acting are real cheesy or not (in fact I almost prefer it).  I just want the Kaiju and Jaegers to be really cool looking, the effects to be over the top, and the fight scenes to be radical.

I've had enough Superman yarns to last a lifetime.  Heck we just had "Superman - Returns," 7years ago.  My favorite Superman videos remain the 1940's Dave and Max Fleischer animated tales.  Wish DC gave us a movie with a lesser known character like Lobo, but that wouldn't rake in a billion bucks like Supe will.
