Padilha Leading New TERRORIST Action Thriller

Yet another terrorist-centered action-thriller has announced through the trades this morning. There's been quite a few green lit the past year but this one will be an action piece centering around the most dangerous spot of South America. Warner Bros has hired director Jose Padilha (Elite Squad) to lead the project, based on a screenplay by Jason Keller. The tentative title is currently A Willing Patriot, reports Variety.

Warner Bros. is shopping the story around Hollywood in the hopes of grabbing a major American star and a major Latin star to lead.

Plot Concept: Revolves around an American federal agent who goes undercover in South America's dangerous so-called tri-border area -- where Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay meet -- in an attempt to dismantle a terrorist-funding network.

I'd be interested in this type of film. I've read more than a few disturbing things about this area. It's basically a small mid-east with a heavy Iranian influence. These people are integrating enough with the south americans that they can just as easily as they do come into our country basically unharrased. And if it's up to the left here we might as well send them invitations. OK I'm done with my PSA

How about Javier Bardem as the latin star. He was awesome in No Country.
