I have no sacred cows, panzer. Film is FANTASY. It is not important to me that 2/3 of the cast of Memoirs of a Geisha were of the wrong race.

So by your rational, should only brits be allowed to act in King Lear adaptations?

When Al Pacino played Shilock in an adaptation of The Merachant of Venice, where was your outcry that a Jew should be playing that part as it was written?

Kate Blancett played Bob Dylan in Im Not There...Were you protesting? Shes a lady AND a brit (niether of which describe Dylan)

So for me, If your shooting for a historically accurate period piece, maybe race should come into play...But Capn Nemo? Come on, dude! Its a smart asshole on a big boat.
