After working successfully together on numerous releases dating back to 2006, Paramount Pictures and J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot shingle extended their first-look agreement through December of 2015. The news comes on the heels of launching production into their untitled Star Trek sequel for an expected release date of May 17, 2013.

“J.J. is a unique talent and a captivating storyteller,” said Brad Grey, Chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures. “J.J., Bryan Burk and the whole Bad Robot team are an integral part of Paramount and we’re proud to continue our collaboration. Their pictures have extraordinary resonance around the world and we’re so pleased Paramount will be their home for years to come.”

“Brad, Rob, Adam and the whole Paramount team have given Bad Robot truly incredible support, a fun and smart collaborative environment and access to the best film distribution people in the business. I couldn’t be happier knowing that Bad Robot features will remain at Paramount,” said Abrams.

Don't worry...  J.J. won't miss.  He hasn't yet.  He's highly talented and very good at telling a story in a fresh, new way.  It's gonna rock!

There is no "It" even disscussed in this article, it's just an extension of the first look at anything bad robot comes up with next. and sorry to piss in your cheerios this morning but JJ has missed. Cloverfield was a waste of time and energy. it was a hack job found footage crapfest. And JJ's version of Trek is nothing but a cash grab that has losts of flash and NO substance. I prefer JJ on the small screen. Loved LOST (despite the ending) Love FRINGE. but JJ is not Midas. his touch is NOT GOLD.

I am SO F&*%ING TIRED of these quasi-political speeches that studio execs give.  "Their pictures have extraordinary resonance around the world."  OH STFU!!  You mean, "Their pictures make us BUCKETLOADS of money."  Maybe it's the fact that it's an election year, but good Lord, I am sick and tired of this artificially phrased, pre-packaged messages that don't say what they mean.  UGH!
