You have to love it when Hollywood makes a deal on a new sci-fi action spec and all that's described on it is "Think of *insert previous action film here* in space!".

Such is the case here with Variety reporting that Paramount Pictures has acquired screenwriter Jon Heffernan's untitled script centering within such story parameters. You'll see in the very short plot concept down below. Heffernan previously penned Snakes on a Plane. Mary Parent's Disruption Entertainment will oversee development with Parent, Cale Boyter and Brian Spink set as producers.

Plot Concept: The trade describes the story as "Die Hard" on an alien spaceship.

I know everybody here is ready to rip this idea a new one for the silly plot description but I will give it the benefit of the doubt as to how good or bad this could be.

I remember finding an old Starlog magazine from the early 80's that announced a new film being made by 20th Century Fox. It was a horror movie that was described as "The Omen in outer space." That movie was Ridley Scott's Alien and we all know what a classic it has been for all genre fans. I will give this movie the leeway to show what it might become.

"Insert previous action film here" in space. Well, if they were to get Bruce Willis crawling through ventilation ducts on an alien spaceship anc complaining about it, then hey, I just might check that out. :P

Monkey's pretty much correct here.  We got nothing more than the announcement of the barest script, until there's more (deeper plot description, green light announcement, stars, trailer...) there's no real point in commenting one way or the other.

Call me when the 3-t*tted woman from Total Recall shows up. There's just not enough mutant nudity in space films anymore.

Still remember having to close my eyes for roughly 89 of the 90 minutes of LifeForce as a child. Ha!

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd since they would need to re-cast 'Triboob" as I like to call her, there's one choice, and one choice only-

Christina Hendricks.........sorry maniacs. You can go wipe yourselves off now. Didn't mean to give you such a powerful visual
