Just after accepting the Dr. Donald A. Reed award at the 28th annual Saturn Awards, Paramount Pictures president Sherry Lansing talked both about her hopes for the newly announced INDIANA JONES 4, as well as TOMB RAIDER 2, which she said would be out next summer.
"We just concluded the deal with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas [for INDY 4]," she recounted about the deal everyone's been talking about for the last week. "They've picked the screenwriter they want [Frank Darabont] and AS soon as they have a daft they're happy with, I'm sure I'll be happy. I think we all will. They're playing it very close to the vest, so I don't know much about where the plot is going. I'm lighting candles every day, hoping that this film will be made sooner rather than later."
She also revealed Jan DeBont will in fact be directing TOMB RAIDER 2, despite reports he left the project a few weeks ago, as well as the news the movie is set for release next summer.
