Paramount Pictures' new thriller Paranormal Activity sold out all of its Thursday thru Saturday midnight screenings in 33-cities across the country this weekend, earning a per screen of $16,000 for a total estimated gross of $535,000. Hundreds of thousands of fans from across the U.S. have overwhelmingly demanded the film in their area, prompting Paramount Pictures to expand the hit horror film to over 40-markets, and will begin offering the movie at all hours, including the previous midnight only venues, beginning next Friday, October 9th.
"The fans have spoken, and we are listening" said Paramount Pictures Vice Chairman Rob Moore

I still need to see more footage in a new trailer in order to give it a stronger recomendation but like I said before this is just like theformat Blair Witch used and it looks like it may become just as popular if the trend grows.
I saw a midnight screening in Houston this past weekend and thought the movie was pretty good. It's definitely cut from the same mold as Blair Witch. It's not the reinvention of horror films but it's good for a scare and does a good job of gradually building the suspense throughout. I'd recommend checking it out and for a no budget film it offers more scares than last month's servings of horror flops!
The movie's been showing here in Chicago for two weeks, but only in midnight shows. I'm more of a daytime person, so it's good to know that the movie will be showing at all hours. I'll probably see it this weekend.
