With just over a week to go before it hits theaters Paramount Pictures has unleashed a trailer online for Paranormal Activity, a new supernatural thriller expected to debut into limited theaters on September 25, 2009. The studio has also given the fans a choice to "Demand It" at the official website, should you like the trailer and want it showing in your local theaters.

The film stars Katie Featherston, Amber Armstrong, Micah Sloat, Mark Friedrichs and Ashley Palmer. Oren Peli penned the script and directed.
Plot Concept: After a young, middle class couple moves into what seems like a typical suburban "starter" tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be somehow demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep. Or try to.
Chop- I agree on the footage. The "shaky" camera that everyone associates now with "Reality". I believe that directors are using it as a gimmick to fool the audience to be more engrossed in a story that is not gripping. When used well it works but too much usage leads to turds.

The cinematography style is reminiscent of Blair Witch, Cloverfield & Quarantine. That found footage look that I know some people absolutely hate. I often wonder if this style has become popularized by reality tv. The trailer seemed less interested in setting up the movie and instead focused on the audience of a screening as it's selling point. Not a good sign if you ask me but who knows maybe it will be one of thoughs diamonds in the rough?
