There were rumors of a possible Descent sequel on the horizon last summer and it looks to be coming true, though without Neil Marshall at the helm. U.K. indie production company Celador Films is reuniting with French-owned and U.K.-based Pathe on a sequel with the predecessor's editor, Jon Harris, at the helm. Neil Marshall and Christian Colson will produce.

 Leading stars
Shauna MacDonald, Natalie Mendoza, Gavan O'Herlihy, Joshua Dallas, Anna Skellern, Douglas Hodge and Krysten Cummings are set to return in the 10 million budgeted production. Shooting will take place in Scotland and at London's Ealing Studios.

Plot Concept:
The survivor forced back into the system of caves she battled her way out of in the first film, in a bid to locate the rest of her group.

We don't need a sequel for this, especially since they all died. I refuse to accept that alternate ending we got here in the states..........IRON MAN......Always been a huge fan of IronMan,(since those old Marvel cartoons with hardly any animation) one of the big hitters of the Marvel Universe. Defended him through out the Civil War and I'm glad as hell he finally got his due. I just can't overstate how big a fan I've always been, not a johnny come lately. Then again growing up a Marvel zombie I guess is understandable................... Caught the 8 o'clock show then the midnight show. I'm revved up so high is unbelievable. Right now I'm putting this as one of the best superhero movies ever. It was fucking awesome, action and cgi were just out of this world, just enough comedy and still didn't take away from a terrific plot. Gwyneth Paltrow, who I've never being big on, stole my heart and was perfect for her role. The entire cast was on the money. I love how they've laid the ground work for the Mandarin with the "Ten Rings" in the future. Will definitely see it again during the weekend. Can't remember the last time I was compelled to go see multiple viewings of a film during the same weekend, not to mention the same night, that's how good this was. I just can't say enough about it. The scene and final line after the credits made me want to wet myself. I'm just giddy right now. Everybody go see this film and take the whole family.................By the way the Hulk trailer looked even more amazing on the big screen and the response from the audience gives me hope that it will be well received....Go MARVEL..............This is the only topic worthy of discussion this weekend. I must spread the word.

I loved the Descent, and even really dug Doomsday, but I don't think a sequal is in order. I am not sure which ending i saw, but.....spoilers..............................................
she got out of the cave only to find out that she really didn't or something like that,,,,what is the real ending?

spoiler.........whiskey, that's the real ending. She dreams that she got out while unconscious but wakes up still in the cave. We got the happy ending here in the states.

not a good plot for a sequel, that chick never made it out of the cave and makes this plot retarded. now a search party venturing into the caves is more practical and before anyone says "but nobody knew they went into those caves" they left 2 SUVs behind and eventually someone will find those SUVs.

I've seen both endings and was OK with both the fatalistic and the marginally optimistic endings. I thought it was the best horror flick of 2006, but like so many horror movies, it would be best to let well-enough alone.
