According to Superhero Hype, Patrick Stewart will lend his voice as the villain Max Winters in the upcoming film TMNT.  Zhang Ziyi, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Chris Evans and Kevin Smith also lend their voices to various characters.

In the film, Winters goes mad after he was wrongfully fired and begins amassing an army of ancient monsters.  Only the ninja turtles can stop him.  Zhang Ziyi voices the villain Karai, who leads an evil army known as the Foot Ninjas into battle against the turtle brothers. Gellar is the voice of April, the human researcher who serves as the Turtles' tech-services worker and mother figure.

The Turtles will not have celebrity voices.

TMNT hit's theaters this coming March.

Stewart and Gellar are great picks, but I can't help but thinking the plot sounds a bit ... weak?

Yeah, the plot does sound rather weak. I loved Stewart's performance as a mad alien in the Jimmy Neutron movie. Had me in stitches.

Will the turtles continue to jump like frogs? hmmm

Oh so weak. What happened to the old school TMNT that were fierce looking, bad-ass, and ready to tear your tonsils out to dangle before your eyes? OK, maybe a little too much but I wouldn't mind seeing the old school TMNT adapted to reflect the earlier artistic styles from the comics; raw, visceral, and darker. I think I'll wait for the DVD release.

manjisan, it does look darker and more viceral! Have you seen the trailer? Lets remeber that although these four dudes have been around for awhile, this movie still has to appeal to a young demographic. Its the teenage Mutant ninja Turtles man! heroes in a half shell! haha. I think this movie will come through. Turtle power.

I would also like to see TMNT be shown more in the vein of the original comic book. It was gritty, dark, and pretty violent. I know that they can't make it too violent but the big screen adaption and cartoon were so far on the other side of the spectrum, it felt like watching something out of Sesame Street. The trailer at least makes them look like they did in the b&w comics, so hopefully it works out.

Also, the original comics were very much a parody of other superheroes. Foot Ninjas = The Hand, Splinter = Stick, etc. I'm hoping they keep this attitude.

This movie in no way looks dark. That plot is beyond retarded. I am not interested in this movie in the slightest. I would much rather see a reboot of the animatronics used in the originals. That would appeal to me, and others I think. I am SICK of CGI.

Albeit cheesy, I loved the first film.
And I agree, this upcoming movie should be like the original comics. I was deeply impressed with them and the first film touched on the bitter Raphael rather nicely (while targetting at kids).
mmm... memories.

Obviously, a couple of you never read the orginal black and white series from Mirage Studios. This movie looks dead on, and I'm looking forward to it.

theCOLLECTOR = Scrooge.
I'm looking forward to full on CGI TMNT, its the format that this franchise was born for.
Eastman and Laird had to make some changes to the turtles, and one change was going from all red headbands to four color headbands and their initials on their belts. They didnt need the pizza chomping lameness but they did need to separate the identities of the four brothers.
good cast too. looks good.
TheCOLLECTOR, if you arent interested in the TMNT movie ..why are you here posting?

If Sarah Michelle Gellar is playing April.... then how long before we hear Freddie Prinze Jr is also doing a voice?
