It will not be Vin Diesel, but Paul Bettany to play the role of The Vision. The world knows him better as the voice of Jarvis from the Iron Man Trilogy. Jarvis is of course Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.) helpful A.I. system. His transformation into the android Avenger happens in Avengers: Age of Ultron!

Variety had the official word: “Production starts next month, with director Joss Whedon and cast members like Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans. The Vision was an android created by the robotic villain Ultron, who was meant to be one of Ultron’s henchmen but who instead turns against him and becomes a hero”.

Giddyup.  Age of Ultron - the countdown begins.  Great casting.   Paul Bettany is also better known as Geofrrey Chaucer in A Knight's Tale and Russell Crowe's imaginary roomate in A Beautiful Mind, both of which he was great in.   I actually DIDN'T know he was the voice of Jarvis in the Iron Man movies, but that is great continuity on Marvel's part (yet again...are you paying attention DC?...)

What's really interesting is that Paul Bettany didn't know he was the voice of Jarvis in the first Iron Man movie, either. Jon Favreau called him up and asked Bettany to do him a favor as a friend. Bettany came in and recorded everything without knowing what he was working on.

This was the only real way forward. Great continuity Marvel. As Modo already said, just seconding his words. This film is gonna smash everything else away.

I doubt they will use any of his past colors for looks.  I did like his all white version when he got rebooted that one time.  But he will probably just look like himself as a boring human.  Still another great add to the already great movie.  FF should take notes, but they won't.

Awesomeness indeed. This just keeps getting better.

Now all we need is for Marvel to push it back a year and line it up against the JL film, I mean MOS2 :)

Vision! Scarlet Witch! Quicksilver! Wow!

This sure beats Darwin, Butterfly Angel and Havok.

The great thing about Vision is the don't go through a crazy back story to have him appear.

Stark's armors were already "robots" with his conscience so basically, Vision will just be Jarvis in one of those bodies but modified not to look like an Iron Man armor.

Since Ant Man is coming out 2 months after Avengers 2, I sure hope they throw Pym's name in there. I also think this is why Edgar Wright's Ant Man was delayed and went through the rewrites. He got the gig before the MCU become huge. He had written a draft that was probably a stand alone movie. Marvel probably told him to rewrite it to make it part of the MCU.
