Do I smell a season finale for AoS here?

I have a feeling that Eric O'Grady will be Ant-Man in the present and Hank and Janet will be in flashbacks to the 1960s (with John Slattery perhaps returning as Howard Stark)

Paul Rudd does a cameo turn as O'Grady in the end of season, in which he steals Stark tech based on Pym's designs...

I just read an article over at CBR that makes a strong argument that Rudd won't be playing Pym or O'Grady but Scott Lang. They weighed the pros and con's of each character. Lang makes the most sense due to the fact he's the current Ant Man in the comics, he's a single parent, and perhaps more importantly doesn't have the controversial baggage associated with Pym and O'Grady. Pym's domestic violence and O'Grady's perving respectively. Neither of which I don't see Disney going anywhere near.

"Actually just visited this thread to say that it would be interesting if Mania allowed the Maniacs to select their "Best of 2013...in comics, fantasy, sci-fi, horror, anime and video games.  Last year the only best of 2012 list Mania did was Rob Vaux's best movies...which was a minor fiasco as Vaux apparently went with his wife to see Les Miserables right before he made his list...the movie made them cry...and he chose it as the best film of 2012 hardly what you'd expect to see on a "Genre" website."

LOL! For once I agree with you. Last year's list was a lame cop out. Miserable was overrated and shouldn't have been on this list.

Mania should have a full list of all genre movies and voting buttons based on login (for votes not stacking one movie). I would be curious.

@axia777 - Keanu has not been cast, so let's stop talking about him. Rudd has been cast, and the studio toted him as being able to deliver "several dimensions" to the hero. I simply don't see it, and I'm still asking for anyone to provide an example of Paul Rudd's past acting gigs that would qualify their statement. It's a valid complaint.

Okay

1.Prince Avalanche

2.All is Bright

3.Anchorman 2

All 3 films have Paul Rudd, all 3 films are very different with him in very different roles and all 3 were released in 2013.

I think he's an excellent choice who has never made a film worse by being in it, quite the opposite in fact.  Another grandslam casting for Marvel.

So curious which Ant Man he's gonna be, I really want Hank Pym, but damn if I can't see him better as O'Grady.

Sorry I have one issue. Pym has issues like Stark does. Can Rudd really pull off the issues, say, like beating his wife? Seriously don't want the interpretation to be this comical approach and like the approach A:EMH took. He was moody but brilliant and yeah never really wanted to be a superhero. So yeah don't make it this Paul Rudd stand up comic routine. Read the character and learn the personality. Ugly side and all. He is obsessive JUST LIKE STARK.

lazarus 12/21/2013 6:56:18 AM

Oh and Pym is Ant Man. That is like casting for Dick Grayson to be Batman. No, Pym is Ant Man. Yeah in the future he has others who pick up the mantle but have Pym be the focus. He can pass the mantle on in the third film.

@release - Rudd has been playing the same character in a bunch of movies, because they were all from the same director and group of actors, namely Seth Rogen, Mike Cera, etc. Him in Anchor man is actually very different from what he normally plays in the Judd Apatow movies.  I'm sure he will do fine.

redvector.  Have you read comics lately?? Lang hasn't been Antman in like forever.  Hes been dead since the Avengers Disassembled storyline.  O'Grady has been killed off in the Secret Avengers books.  Pym has been the current Antman/Giantman for some time.  Now I think they brought back Lang recently, but I'm pretty sure he hasn't been Antman since.

Eldogg, read Matt Fraction's FF series. Lang is currently Antman, not Pym. It's also a pretty great book.
