There's a book for this?

Why would you spend all that money and then release a trailer a few days early on the internet? Well here is the Super Bowl TV Spot for Brad Pitt’s World War Z.
The Plot: “The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.”
World War Z is based on the Max Brooks penned book of the same name that tells an Oral History of the Zombie War. The film stars Brad Pitt, Eric West, Matthew Fox, David Morse, James Badge Dale, Mireille Enos, David Andrews, Elyes Gabel.
World War Z is directed by Marc Forster, and the film is set to be released in theaters on June 21, 2013
Hey Cinescape, you forgot to add a couple of words to the blurb above the trailer - it should read:
"World War Z is VERY LOOSELY based on the Max Brooks penned book of the same name..."
I hate that it is just so different from the book. All they appear to have done is borrow the name in hopes of getting all the fans into the theater
If they ever wanted to the book right they had to go to series because it really is just a compilation of stories so a series would've been ideal
Having said that I like how it looks so I'll be there for sure. But even approaching it with a different attitude I think the film may end up sucking anyway. All the changes, delays and re-shoots don't exactly inspire confidence
Brad Pitt is usually a pretty solid bet so I'm not worried. I haven't read the source material though so I'll be going in with no preconceived notions of what it should be. Reading all the complaints I guess I'm glad for that. The zombie masses look pretty crazy and are different than the way we've ever seen zombies move.
Looks like JMS' script was too cerebral for the producers, not enough fist fights.
I wonder who the first person in the world is that's going to make this comment: World War Zzzzzzzzzzz.
Oh - I'm interested in seeing it. I don't care if it's not like the book.
