Three months after 20th Century Fox brought in writers to flesh out a scripted sequel to Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, the Los Angeles Times' 24 Frames reports the studio has also found their director. Helmer Thor Freudenthal is the one set in charge of visualizing the next story from Rick Riordan's best-selling Percy Jackson book series. The original director, Chris Columbus, is still on board as a producer and Logan Lerman is returning to the title role. Screenwriters Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski were tasked with scripting out the story.
Plot Concept: With the revelation that this sequel could draw from numerous books in Riordan's series, we can pass along that the second book, The Sea of Monsters, centered on Percy and his group of friends as they head to the titular sea to find the mythical Golden Fleece, with hopes to free a friend who captured there.
The first one absolutely SUCKED! So different from the book, which was pretty good. The only movie that disappointed me more recently was GI Joe. This one has "wait till its on FX" written all over it
