Peregrym Joins REAPER

Actress Melissa "Missy" Peregrym has joined the upcoming CW show Reaper. You'll most likely know Melissa from NBC's hit show Heroes in which she played the character Candice, one of Linderman's many employees. The actress has replaced Nikki Reed as a recurring character for whom the star character (Bret Harrison) has a crush on from work. Reed played the character in the pilot and Melissa is taking over.

For those of you not familiar about Reaper. It's an upcoming hour long show about a slacker who becomes a hitman for the devil.

ABC and the Mark Gordon Company are in charge of its production.

Oh well, no more Candice. I guess. What happened to Nikki Reed?

Didn't say, Pony.

Maybe she didn't test well with audiences on the pilot show.

Like you, I was curious on the Candice character's future while uploading this news. I guess she's gone. Then again, with Linderman gone too...Maybe there was no need for her anymore.

Conceivably, considering her power, anyone could play the role of Candice.

Her character likely served its purpose on heroes. Not that I would object to seeing her again.

And as long as schedules don't conflict its not like she couldnt appear in episodes of both. Also they said 'recurring' character not 'regular' character.

EvilMonkey, that would work well. If they have need for Candice next season, someone else could easily play the character. Also, if they simply need an Illusionist character, and it doesn't have to have Candice's personality, Kring can just create a new Hero.

I'm hoping that Candice comes back, even if only for a few episodes, and that Missy reprises the role.

I would feel jipped if they got somebody else to play the role or came up with another illusionist character featuring the same powers.

@ #2 - not to play devil's advocate, but who says that Linderman is gone? Nobody knows the full extent of his healing abilities... maybe he can turn it inward, or by virtue of being in contact with his own cells, he regenerates.

I think Linderman's probably dead and gone for good. With everything the producers have been saying about the second season having new characters and a new story, it sounds like they'll stay away from the death and resurrection stories common in comic books. It appears Sylar may have survived, so I doubt they'll have both their villians from season one cheat death.

or she could just be on both shows...

Candace stated that she was overwieght in one of the final episodes, so Evilmonkey has the best answer. (also, this illustrates one of the plot holes in the final episodes. When Candace was knocked unconsious, her true form should have been revealed), this is just an observation. I love the show but the end was kind of rushed and forced.

No, actually she didn't. She made an off the cuff remark to Micah about her not necessarily looking like a hot chick. However, the fact that she turned from Nikki in to Missy Peregrym when she was knocked unconscious in the season finale would indicate that that's what she really looks like.

If Heroes didn't already have her signed on for season two, they probably didn't have any plans for her anyway.
