My kids and I all loved this movie. I have Blu-ray, cellblock, or I would be pissed too, but honestly how often do you watch the extras. The movie is what matters.
I've heard good things, but I still don't see the point in changing the story from the game to the point that it's barely recognizable and then using the title from the game. I'd still like to see Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time adapted into a film.
I'm sure this movie is entertaining, but I'm sick of game and comic book adaptations that think you can take a few cool elements from the game, throw in a big Hollywood cast to prance around in cool outfits, get some douchebag creative team to totally rewrite everything, and then you wonder why these movies aren't well recieved. Either the masses love it and you've alienated the fans (Prince of Persia), or everyone hates it and it's automatically relegated to bargain bin status and nobody wants anything to do with the franchise ever again (Bloodrayne).
Like I said, I'm sure this is a good movie, just maybe not a great adaptation.
I hear ya, cellblock303. It's been getting worse and worse, too. I just rented the Clash of the Titans(2010) and The Losers DVDs over this weekend and they didn't even have chapter selection, for pete's sake. I mean, ok... if you want to add in new additional stuff to Blu-Ray versions that you couldn't have put in on the DVD version because of space limitations that's fine, but don't take out standard features that have been part of DVDs since they first came out just for a cash grab.
Yeah DVDs have been sucking lately. Hot Tub time Machine is another one that was raped on DVD bonus features. Would've loved to see a blooper reel for that one, but, wasn't included. Was thinking of getting Clash but can hold off until it hits $10 or the $5 bin at Walmart. Yup, I'm one of those people too that can't afford Blu-Ray just yet. The eonomy hasn't rebounded yet.
Just a note on Disney Blu-Ray combos and DVDs: Usually they have a $10 off coupon available during the first week or two of release. There will probably be one for the Blu-Ray combo for Prince of Persia. Check the Disney website or for info if there will be a coupon, this message board: http://www.dvdizzy.com/forum/
I'll rent this when it comes out.
Some films should not be remade, just get the original films. At least some old films have teeth to hook you in. I was slightly disappointed when Friday the 13th was remade , some directors have no clue of how to put a film together.
Todd890
huh?
Not sure which board you think you're posting on, but Prince of Persia ain't a remake. It's an "adaptation" of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (a video game). As I said it's supposed to be an okay popcorn flick, but it's not a very faithful adaptation of the game.
I know that, hence the space between the two paragraphs.
One is about the Prince the other is about reboots.
Anyone else tired of the recent trend of Blue Ray having ALL the the dvd extras while us poor (as in, can't afford Blue Ray) regular dvd users get squat? There have been a bunch of dvd's that I wanted to get recently, but I've held off because the regular dvd edition has nothing compared to the Blue Ray edition. I guess I'll just have to keep going to the RedBox.
