This is one of those rare instances where the movie actually does the book justice. One word: Zelda. She freaked me the fuck out!

After years sitting quietly in development hell, Paramount Pictures may be gaining traction for their planned remake of Pet Sematary, based on the Stephen King tale. HR is reporting the studio has hired writer Matthew Greenberg to script out a revision of the film which was originally adapted into feature form in 1989. The screenwriter has some history delving into the imagination of King, having wrote the screenplay for his short story 1408.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura recently boarded as producer on the long-gestating project, which is set up at Paramount. Steven Schneider also is producing.
Plot Concept: Published in 1983, King's creeper tale centered on a family that trades the city life for the country life in Maine, then discovers that they have moved near a pet cemetery that rests on an ancient burial ground. When the husband's toddler son is killed in an auto accident, the father takes the boy's body to the cemetery, where it is resurrected in demonic form.
There's also a theatrical remake of King's "IT" in development at Warner Bros. Pictures.

I love the first and second one. I hope this will be just as good or even better then the original. Fingers cross on this. :)
I'm a big king fan but I'm nervous about this one. Hell I have nearly every book King has ever written in 1st edition hardcover so I would like to think that anything involved with king would be a great idea but remakes make me nurvous- The shinning remake was okay but no one could surpass Jack's performance as the drunken father
hell no. Book was creepy as all hell. First time I ever became nauseous reading a book when the guy is digging up his dead son. Don't think the original can be topped.
Surprised no body said this yet regarding this remake:
"Sometimes dead is better."
hmmm would anyone film remake without Fred Gwynne ?
Christ on his throne no. Who ever would?
WHY? THe first movie was perfect. Why do a remake of a perfectly done movie? This is just LAME IMHO.
Yeah, not sure this needs a re-make...I'll hold judgement...but for now I give it a resounding...MEH!
Awesome book, awesome movie, hopefully an awesome remake... if there is such a thing...
Will not be the same without Herman Munster...
