PHOENIX prepares for liftoff

Giovanni Ribisi (LOST IN TRANSLATION) and Jacob Vargas (KINGPIN) have joined the cast of THE FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX for 20th Century Fox. As was previously reported, Dennis Quaid plays the captain of a grounded plane forced down in the Sahara desert. When no rescue arrives, the survivors must try and build a makeshift plane from their wreckage or die in the attempt.
Filming is scheduled to commence on October 20 in Africa. This is a remake of the 1965 film which starred James Stewart, Richard Attenborough, George Kennedy and Ernest Borgnine.
