As the release date looms for the latest adaptation of the J.R.R. Tolkien trilogy, here are some images to tide you over until you can see it on a big screen near you.

THE TWO TOWERS follows Frodo (Elijah Wood)and Sam (Sean Astin) as they venture towards Mordor with Gollum (Andy Serkis) as their guide; Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) continue their quest to find Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd)which leads them to the people of Rohan. Once it is discovered that Saruman (Christopher Lee) is planning on launching a massive attack on the people of Rohan, the remaining members of the Fellowship must take action.

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS opens nationwide on December 18.
