Ving Rhames and Rosamund Pike will be starring opposite Bruce Willis, Ned Vaughn and Radha Mitchell in Disney's The Surrogates, says the Hollywood Reporter. The four will be getting directed by Johnathan Mostow, based on the sci-fi graphic novel by Robert Venditti and Brett Weldele. Michael Ferris and John Brancato penned the screenplay and David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman, Max Handelman and Elizabeth Bank produce the film. Production is scheduled to begin in April 28 in Boston.

Plot Concept:
Story is set in the future where humans live risk-free lives through robot surrogates that are eternally young, perfect-looking versions of themselves. Rhames plays a charismatic cult figure who disdains the use of surrogates and tries to lead an uprising against the "new world order." Mitchell plays the professional partner of Willis' character, a cop that through his surrogate investigates the murders of others' surrogates.Pike plays his wife.

The Surrogates will hit theaters November 20, 2009.

Never read the novel but this idea sounds really good. Full of possibilities.

Ving and Bruce?

"What now?" -- "What now? Let me tell you what now. I'ma call a coupla hard, pipe-hittin' niggers, who'll go to work on the homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. You hear me talkin', hillbilly boy? I ain't through with you by a damn sight. I'ma get medieval on your ass."

Ah good times.

galaga, that quote sounds familiar, but I can't place it.
As for the movie, it sounds good and with Bruce involved I'm there. I've always liked Ving since Mission Impossible so that helps too.
