Whoops, sounds like #1 doesn't know his Bond trivia. The original character was named JIMMY BOND and played by an AMERICAN in a one hour TV movie - years before the movies. The British actor was his sidekick and played the part of an MI5 operative. "In 1954, CBS paid Ian Fleming for the rights to adapt Casino Royale into a one hour television adventure as part of their Climax! series.
