PINK PANTHER 2 Is a Go

By: Jarrod Sarafin, News Editor
Date: Thursday, August 09, 2007
Source: Variety

The sequel was originally announced back in March 2006 but it grinded to a halt and fell into development hell. Not anymore. Variety is reporting that PINK PANTHER 2 will begin production with a new director attached and a full cast already selected. The cast for the next installment includes Steve Martin, Andy Garcia, John Cleese, Alfred Molina, Aishwarya Rai, Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer. Harald Zwart is taking over the director duties from Shawn Levy.

Plot Summary: Story centers on Clouseau to catch the thief who has been stealing artifacts around the world.

PINK PANTHER 2 will hit theaters February 13, 2009.

Uhhh... Seriously?

God, I used to love Steve Martin movies. The Jerk, Man With Two Brains, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, Roxanne...loved 'em.
But man, has he ever gone over to the dark side. Father Of The Bride, Sgt Bilko, Cheaper By The Dozen and now this. It's heartbreaking.
Every once in a while he'll throw in a Bowfinger to give you hope, but then he'll slap you with a Bringing Down The House and it just depresses the crap out of me.
What a disappointment.

Why????????????

Give me Sellers any day.
Oh the days of Plans, Trains and Automobiles . .
Neal: [frowns] Where's your other hand?
Del: Between two pillows...
Neal: Those aren't pillows!

It least the first one got two nominaitions . . . . . . in the Razzie Awards 2007. . . . . Worst Remake or Rip-off and Worst Supporting Actress (Kristin Chenoweth-triple nomination).
The producers must have confused them with the Oscars lol.

Thanks for the warning. I haven't even bothered watching the first movie. Peter Sellers is rolling in his grave.

Peter Sellers has come back from the dead to kick Martin`s ass for these movies.

Putting the Sellers movies aside for the moment... this had about two cute moments... the rest was just awful.... so I'm sure the sequel will be painful.

I wish I could do a reverse bang on this one.

I refused to watch the first one, so I can't comment on how bad it was, but I never laughed at the trailer so I passed. Which sucks because I think Beyonce is so amazing. At least she's smart enough not to come back.
