It seems that mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer has jumped on board the Twitter train that's been conducted by directors like Jon Favreau. Much like the Iron Man helmer, Bruckheimer has promised to keep the fans appraised of the set action (via his profile) for Walt Disney Pictures' Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Maniacs can see his first set photos down below with more likely to follow later.
With production already underway in Hawaii, the fourth film in the Pirates saga will star Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane, Kevin McNally, Stephen Graham, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Gemma Ward, Sam Claflin and Yuki Matsuzaki. Director Rob Marshall (pictured below) is taking over the helming duties from a script by Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott.
Plot Concept: Depp returns as Captain Jack Sparrow in the fourth film in the popular "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. The new film will be loosely based on the Tim Powers book, "On Stranger Tides." Geoffrey Rush is back as Barbossa and Ian McShane will play the villain Blackbeard. Penelope Cruz is portraying the daughter of Blackbeard. The storyline is a continuation of the third film with Captain Jack searching for the Fountain of Youth.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will hit 3D/2D theaters May 20, 2011.
