DreamWorks perennial director Gore Verbinski (THE RING, MOUSE HUNT) is moving over to the "Mouse House" to direct Disney's THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN. During an interview to promote THE RING, Verbinski revealed shooting has already begun on the project and announced a release date.
"I start shooting on [October 7]," says Verbinski. "July 27, 2003 is the release date. It's not too often you get the opportunity to film a pirate movie. So, I am really excited about that and looking forward to [filming] it."
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN stars Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush and Orlando Bloom.
THE RING opens October 18.
