Video game distributor THQ and Pixar Animation Studios have extended their contract, allowing THQ to publish video games based on future Pixar films including ones past the digital studio's deal with Walt Disney Pictures.
THQ has already been making video games based on Pixar shows, such as last year's FINDING NEMO. That game became last year's bestselling children's game and the fifth best-selling game overall, selling over six million units since its release. The new deal between the two companies will start when the existing one ends in 2006, and it will allow THQ to make games for four of Pixar's post-Disney films. The game company is already developing titles for THE INCREDIBLES and CARS, the final two Pixar films to be released under the Disney distribution umbrella.
