Namco Hometek Inc. has announced that it has a new video game in development due out next summer. Called PLAGUE OF DARKNESS (that's a working title), the video game is slated for release on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox platforms. Both versions will support online gaming.
Set in medieval Europe during the time of the Black Death, the main character is a knight named Douran who is on a quest to stop an ancient demon that is terrorizing the land, feasting on the souls of those claimed by the plague. The game's linear storylin is spread over eight different environments and 58 sub-locations, with puzzle solving and action melee along the way. Over five weapons are featured in the game, including a variety of swords, crossbows, daggers and the ability to cast magic spells.
Developed by Widescreen Games in Lyon, France, PLAGUE OF DARKNESS is scheduled for release in the summer of 2004.
