Producer Richard Zanuck has been talking about a sequel to Tim Burton's PLANET OF THE APES.
While talking to syndicated columnists Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith, Zanuck suggested that a sequel might come in 2003. Zanuck explains, saying, "We don't want to rush the film into theaters next year -- we'd rather buy extra wanna-see time for the sequel."
He adds, "Right now, we're tossing around ideas for the story. We want to take our time and get it right."
There's no word from the producer on if Burton, Wahlberg or anyone else from the first film might be returning.
