Oh, I fully expect the PS4 to retail about $350 or higher.  Just don't expect me to be buying one anytime soon.  :)

Wii U is a upgraded Wii so that doesn't count.

As long as it doesn't start another format war.  I -really- don't want my Blu rays to go the way of the DVD...

there won't be another format war.......physically........the next one will be a "file" format war, but even that has been going on for awhile now.  The next gen of consoles will bank their popularity on how well the servers are able to stream data to your console, no more blu rays or discs, getting the data online as past as possible is gonna be the way of the future........your blu rays are already obsolete as they won't be making players for them in about 5 years or less........just like VCR's, good luck finding one of those, for all those massive libraries of VHS tapes out there...........

And I just bought an Xbox 360 250 GB on Boxing Day. At $199 I thought it was a good deal. I'm not a big gamer, just bought it to kill some time once in awhile. Wouldn't mind picking up a Wii U. I haven't bought a gaming console since Super NES.

Sony bought Gaikai and it rumored to be putting it into the PS3.  Look it up.  If this happens streaming gaming from thed PSN will be real.

You can easily not play used games but still play them at a friends house.  This is what the industry is going to on PCs and consoles.  That is why the social aspect is so important.  You will be required to have an online connection and you will have to register the game.  Once it has been registered you can play it all you want and if you go somewhere else theywill have some way to show that you are the registered owner of the game.  If it is a used game you will be out of luck of course becaude it has already been registered.  They are just catching up to what the PC games do by making you have accounts, etc.

you are 100% wrong wish! There not going to stop making Blu ray players for a very very long time! Do you know why? Because not everyone has great internet connections and there not going to want to lose millions in sales! After Blu rays there will be another format that replaces that because most people still wont be able to download a 4k movie in 5 years!

Blu-rays will still be around for at least another 10 years. VHS lasted how long?  25 years.

DVDs are still around and it's been 15 years. Blu-rays are only 6 years old.

Blu-rays will change over the course of the years but the format will still be around. We're already seeing some evolution with 3D blu-rays. Then 4K blu-rays will come out and will no doubt, the players will be backwards compatible. As for regular blu-rays, the re-releases will get more compressed. So we're probably going to see TV seasons or movie box sets compressed onto 1 disc for better storage.
