Spoiler Warnings: I'm passing this along because CHUD were the ones who broke the McG as director story. They also knew that Christian Bale was cast in the first film of the planned trilogy, though they disagreed with AICN on Bale playing the role of John Connor. This brings us to the latest Spoiler-filled details about the plot that you may (or may not) want to know so far into pre-production. The details include who the lead character of the first film in the new trilogy is, what characters from the past show up, the type of possible Terminators, the scope of battles and more.

TERMINATOR SALVATION:THE FUTURE BEGINS will hit theaters Summer of 2009.

Salvation it sounds good but is it going to be better than the first three films and the Sarah Conner series.

From the time they announced this I was excited, regardless of wether Bale was in or not. Now I'm really pumped. It makes sense to do the story following someone else's exploits, especially since we pretty much know what happens to JC. I believe McG will do a fine job. And comparing it to the Matrix I assume means that they'll be a "robot city" which would be cool as hell.

SPOILERS MY ASS, ITS PROBABLY JUST MILLHOUSE. Seriously those are not Spoilers its more plot info. Saying Christian Bale will hardly be in the franchise until the 2nd film is not a spoiler. They say big action but without detail. If they said a huge piece of SKYNET falls from the sky or SKYNET can turn into a CYBORG that would be a Spoiler. But this is more character description. I hat McGout but if Bale trusts him then I wont panic yet. I cant believe that Clare Danes turns out to be a sleeper Terminator though, wicked cool.

Oh and can we quit comparing every sci fi or heavy action fighting movie to the Matrix. Pretty soon Porno will look like the MATRIX. MATRIX:ERECTIONIZED

Hmmm... Porno in the Matrix. Lends a whole new meaning to Bullet Time.

Can I just say it? SCREW THE MATRIX MOVIES! They ripped off EVERY SINGLE IDEA THAT THEY HAD. Ripped off from William Gibson's"Neuromancer" and so many anime movies it is just sad. Terminator is better than that. These new movies sound like they will be freaking sweet! bring on man! Supa robot was action maddness! w00T!!!

Everything borrows from everything...just remember, there are only like 5 original stories in the world, its just all in the way it's told that makes it diffrent. I am very excited for the new Terminator movies, regardless of how much Bale is in the first one. I think McG will do a fine job on these. It is something to looks forward to. Osme good sci-fi action movies coming our way.

And now this goes back to being a bad idea. I was so excited when I heard about Christian Bale being John Conner. I really hope this is inaccurate or the story gets reworked. If Christian Bale is playing John Conner, you make John Conner the main character of the film. That really isn't asking too much. John Conner is the best choice to base a future machine war story on. Its the logical continuation of the story. But, if they want a "Riddick" like character, it isn't John Conner. The Matrix comparison may be accurate. Only, I bet they can run this franchise into the ground in only one movie.

Wasn't such a great part of the first three movies (yes, even the third one) about how there was this war that was coming, but we never really saw it (strictly speaking)? I've always liked the fact that the first three were the result of this war in the background (or the cause of it in the future, again, so to speak). The whole "robot war" thing's been done to death, and that's basically because of the first three movies. It seems to me that everyone hated "Matrix: Revolution" (except me) because it was too much like them in the first place. And can we not have every movie in the world be a trilogy? If I'm going to pay $8 bucks for a movie, I don't want to just watch you set up for some other one 6 years away. And if it bombs, you're screwed, because nothing kills a story like having to explain it. Even "The Matrix" and "Star Wars", be they intended trilogies or not, at least did everything they could to make their first movies solid works that stood on their own, as opposed to this "foreshadowing for the next movie" bullshit.
