Powell To Hear a Who in new Seuss Score

John Powell, who has composed music for animated features such as SHREK, CHICKEN RUN and the upcoming HAPPY FEET, has been commissioned to write the original music for HORTON HEARS A WHO, an animated feature produced by 20th Century Fox for release in 2008.

The movie is based on the book by Dr. Seuss and will feature the voices of Jim Carrey and Steve Carell. Horton is an elephant who struggles to protect a microscopic community from his neighbors. John Powell has scored many important Fox pictures lately, including X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN and ROBOTS.

HORTON HEARS A WHO is directed by Jimmy Hayward and Steve Martino, who both worked on ROBOTS.
