BLACK HAWK beats competition in second week

Ridley Scott's BLACK HAWK DOWN was able to hold off genre newcomer THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES and actioner THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO at the weekend box office. According to preliminary numbers, HAWK was number one for the second week in a row, with five new films entering the top ten.



Here's the list:



1. BLACK HAWK DOWN $18.2 million this weekend, $60.1 since opening.



2. SNOW DOGS $13.6 million this weekend, $39.3 million since opening.



3. A WALK TO REMEMBER $13.5 million this weekend, $13.5 million since opening.



4. THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES $11.8 million this weekend, $11.8 million since opening.



5. A BEAUTIFUL MIND $11.6 million this weekend, $93.2 million since opening.



6. THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO $11.5 million this weekend, $11.5 million since opening.



7. SAM I AM $8.3 million this weekend, $8.5 million since opening.



8. THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING $8.0 million this weekend, $258.6 million since opening.



9. KUNG POW! ENTER THE FIST $7.2 million this weekend, $7.2 million since opening.



10. ORANGE COUNTY $4.6 million this weekend, $34.2 million since opening.
