WOLVERINE Waves

The Hollywood Reporter has a follow-up on some of the ramifications in Hollywood in the wake of the theft of the upcoming film 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'.

The write-up reveals a few interesting insights into the security teams (or lack thereof) at Fox, Warner Bros and Universal, and how things have changed in the past two weeks, since the leak occured.

"It's a wake-up call and a motivation to renew our efforts, but I don't know that we've done anything specifically in response," said Maren Christensen, executive vp and general counsel at Universal Studios. "We did an internal audit and tightened security in all areas a year ago, and as a matter of course we monitor to be sure that the new procedures are being followed."

The article also reveals that initial tracking on 'Wolverine' is high, especially among its target audience of young men.

While FBI investigations have lead to the arrest (and in some cases sentencing) of IP thieves in the cases of 'Hulk', 'The Love Guru', 'Slumdog Millionaire', 'Australia' and 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button', arrests have yet to be made in this case.

Gondry really, really talks about GREEN HORNET this time

Although several websites have posted their comments from Michel Gondry about  'Green Hornet', leave it to MTV Splash Page to get the man to actually provide some interesting nuggets about the film.

"...I think we’re going to have Van Williams. We’re going to find a cameo for him," Gondry told MTV. Fans recall that Williams played the title character in the 1960s era TV show, that also featured Bruce Lee and cemented the Hornet in the public consciousness.

But that's not all Gondry revealed. He also dribbled out a few hints about the villain of the film. He said they will not be drawing from the Hornet's pre-existing rogues gallery, but the director hopes to present a formidable foe that moviegoers will root against.

"The villain is going to be horrible. He has a gun with two cannons; he can shoot people in both eyes with one shot," Gondry said.

So who will play the baddie? "I hope I’m going to get the actor I want. I can’t say his name, but believe me — he’s going to be scary like hell."

Production on 'Green Hornet' is slated to start this year, with an eye on a June 25, 2010 release.

Any minute now, sonyman will be posting on this site with every spoiler he can think of. Seriously sonyman, what the hell?! Stop trying to ruin the movie for those of us that choose not to see it online. I mean seriously, when you were a kid did you get a paper cut from an x-men comic? Is that why you hate it so much?

fft5305 4/17/2009 1:33:53 PM

I just ignore it. I don't buy that he knows any more about the movie than we do anyway, so I don't look at them as real spoilers.

I'm still looking forward to Wolverine, eagerly. I hope they catch the scumbag that leaked the film.

Can't believe Fav didn't mention how effing good Scarlett looks. Maybe that's why he stopped tweeting, he was obsessing over her body, especially if the Black Widow outfit is anything like in the comics.

Gondry's description of the bad guy made me think of SLJ in Spirit. I'm obsessing myself of how bad I think this will be. I may be wrong but I doubt it.

The thing that bums me out about Sonyman, is not so much that he is giving away spoilers but that he is getting all his info from second hand talk from a few people who have seen the work print and has yet to see the movie himself...I thought he would have spouted negative crap about the movie with first hand knowledge of it by seeing it not because he talked to 8 or 9 people who have seen, who by the way are probably haters of the X-Men franchise anyhow...I could be wrong, maybe they do like X-men, I don't know but I can say this, there have been instances where my friends and I liked the source material of a certain story that was made into a movie and some of liked the movie and some of us did not...

In short, watch the damn thing before hating on it...

I definitely agree with you guys about giving away spoilers. But here's another spoiler for you.
From what I read of Sonymanswallows' spoilers.... they were all pretty correct.

I think the movie looks pretty good. Everything I have seen looks aweome. Then again, I just love a good action special-effects movie. Just like the oracle says, You'll just have to make up your own damn mind.

I'm not even watching this helicopter video.  I want to be surprised when I see the movie.
