What They Say
Collin has not given up hope; he climbs down the chasm to find the amulet and to find Sallian. He finds himself in another world where Sallian has been trapped since she fell. Believing that she will not survive, there true feelings for each other are exposed and they make passionate love. Will Collin save Feelia from her alternate personalities and how will she reward him?

The Review!
Collin continues in his efforts to save Feelia and finds himself in some very unusual places and situations to do so.

For our primary viewing session, we listened to this show in its original language of Japanese. The mix for it is standard fare for hentai so there wasn't much surprising about it. Dialogue is good and clean and generally center channel based. There's some use of the stereo channels for music and some of the moaning and grunting as they get creative once in awhile, but otherwise it's the usual routine. We didn't have any issues with dropouts or distortions during regular playback.

Originally released to video back in 2001, the two OVAs here look quite good. The shows colors are from a rich vibrant palette that's well used here and manages to avoid problematic things like cross coloration or aliasing. There's some chroma noise in a few scenes around some characters hair edges, but that was pretty minimal in general. The character animation doesn't quite blend with the background shots as well as some other series but it's fairly decent for hentai and doesn't look like their sitting on top of the backgrounds or completely divorced from it. The show does look a bit soft overall but that looks to be the way it was animated more than anything else.

The cover for this volume uses the same as the box cover art from the NuTech edition which has Feelia taking up much of the space while another girl does a lengthy sexy pose near her. Similar to the previous release, the background is pretty dark and murky which keeps the focus entirely on the very attractive character designs. The back cover uses the same kind of background which isn't as much of a problem here. The summary along the top half is surrounded by a strip of shots from the show, some of which show basic nudity, and gets the point across well enough. The font colors used are a bit difficult to read for long through. The bottom portion of the cover is a standard layout for ASM releases with the flags denoting subtitle languages and the various technical listings and features. The reverse side of the cover has the same designs and layout but the back side of it features clean shots from the show. The front cover reverse side is identical on each though.

Using different pieces of character artwork than the covers, the menu is fairly simple if a bit murky in that they play clips from the show behind it but you can see through the character artwork. Set to a rather relaxing bit of instrumental music, the navigation and overall design is good but the character artwork shouldn't have had it so you could see the clip behind it as it makes a lot of it just look dirty. Access times are solid and the menu options are easy to navigate. The disc didn't read our players presets and defaulted to Japanese with no subtitles.

The only included extra on each volume is a series of stills from that particular episode in a video gallery. Also included but not an extra about the show is another of the bonus video features that ASM likes to include.

Content: (please note that the content portions this review are from the previous two-disc edition)
The re-release of this title via the AnimErotica label from Adult Source Media takes the work that NuTech did and builds upon it a bit. Coming out at a cheaper price " one that I wish more single episode adult releases would " with some new cover artwork, it also gets a slight bump up by including French and German subtitles. The original language tracks and translations look to be here as well.

Falling into the category of light-fantasy, the premise for this two part OVA release is pretty simple. We're introduced to a young man, Collin, who somehow manages to own and run his own inn along with the help of two sisters, Pony and Sallion. Collin is finding himself suddenly plagued with dreams of a young pink haired beauty named Felina who begs him in her naked glory to help save her.

Collin wakes from this rather fun dream only to find himself stuck in his usual life of being the butt of a number of problems and usually being behind on doing what needs to be done around the inn. This lets the sisters beat up on him repeatedly and keep him in place. Collin's a decent guy but kind of a dork. When the adventurer Lily arrives to stay there for a few days, you can imagine that she's not all that impressed. She fits the standard female warrior type with short red hair and dark skin and an appetite to match. As we find out, she's looking for something to see or fight in the area and there's rumor of something in an abandoned cave on the outskirts of town.

For Collin, this entices him to join her in seeking out what's in there even after being warned to stay away as he's sure he heard Felina's voice from within there. With the help of Lily though, they're able to make their way deep inside and fight some simple creatures and discover a strange race of pea-like beings with moustaches. What he also discovers is the body of young Felina, a woman whose mind is no longer there. As Collin finds out from a vision of a holy version of Felina, her soul has been split into several individual pieces. To help restore her mind from its blank state now, he has to win against each of the personalities, from the savage to the sly, and then he can be the prince that she needs to bring her back to life.

A decent amount of time is spent in the cave as Collin goes and deals with the various aspects of Felina while also dealing with the other women in his life both in and outside of the cave. The actual time spent going after the various aspects has an amusing Pokemon feel (gotta catch 'em all!) while the sex scenes themselves are decent but fairly typical. Everything in the show is done with a consensual nod, starting from when Lily decides that after a big meal she needs just a bit more meat to fill her completely. Lily really does fit the stereotype nicely with her looks and style. Collin also manages to find his way into the arms of both of the sisters who treat him like family. What's amusing is that when he's with Sallian, they're both stuck in a place in the cave where she figures they're as good as dead. Sex scenes in the face of death are nothing new, but it's just the way she's so glad she's not going to die alone. Now that's feeling.

The sex scenes overall are decent but not terribly exciting or done with anything truly memorable. Each of the girls is well animated during these sequences and their performances come across well enough, but there's just something lacking that makes them really work in being more than what we've seen in so many other shows. The designs are good overall if a bit less than detailed, but for a light fantasy fare with a short plot with a conclusion, Princess Memory fits the bill.

In Summary:
This new release of the title is definitely a good thing for those who have never bought before. A fuller set of translation options, some better artwork and a cheaper price make it all very appealing. It won't interest those who own it already though for the most part. While not one of the best shows out there, this is one of the kinds of short series that continue to be good for couples and those wanting to dabble lightly in the hentai world. There's some amusing comedy mixed into the plot with some of the secondary characters and Collin himself is something of a goof. The sex is decent if average and the performances in both languages are quite good. Princess Memory isn't something that will stand out on your shelf but it'll keep you up for a bit.
