If you boil down what’s truly important in this episode the whole thing would have run about 20 minutes. Now, it would be an awesome 20 minutes, but still it’d be only 20 minutes. The reason I say this is that up to this point Sucre, Bellick, and Mahone have been fairly pointless. Bellick has provided some humorous moments but overall he’s been unnecessary and Mahone has just been walking around going through withdrawal from running out of drugs. We do see Mahone watching prisoners shoot up hinting that he may soon take whatever kind of drug he can get regardless of the risk. This show so far has been all about the brothers with just a little bit of T-Bag thrown in.
The crux of this week’s episode is about Michael seeking out a cell phone to talk to Sara. Of course Lechero has one forcing Michael to approach T-Bag for help. I was happy to see both T-Bag and Michael toughen up a little with both of them bristling at each other. Michael eventually forces T-Bag to help him get that phone with threats of revealing why T-Bag’s in prison to start with. Michael also begins working on a plan for escape. Nothing specific is revealed but there are a few scenes of Michael checking out his options including the location of the sniper towers, where dead bodies are buried, and other situations. It’s about time Michael finally got proactive in the escape plan that’ll inevitably be the meat of the season. I believe when the plan gets moving we’ll see Mahone and Bellick become more important characters. That needs to start happening soon because those characters are really feeling like dead wait.
At some point I cane up with a really bizarre nickname for Linc. I started calling him Dummox, a combination of lummox and dumb. Linc was characterized as a big dumb insecure mess of a man that found himself in trouble all the time. Now this season Linc has not only found his confidence but he’s gotten really smart turning into a competent detective. Now, seeing him spar with Susan B. fits with who he’s been for the last two seasons and has provided some of my favorite scenes in the series so far. To digress for just a minute, I love the Susan B. character. She’s just so excessive and overly tough that it’s humorous. I can’t wait each episode to hear what kind of retort she’s going to come up with when Michael threatens her. Now, it looks like she may have finally followed her words with actions this week by leaving Linc a big box as payback for his attempted rescue of Sara. Now back to Linc becoming nearly the opposite of the character he used to be. Just when you think he’s fallen to far out of his original character he does something dumb that puts him right back where he belongs. Once he discovers where Sara and AJ are rather than handling the approach subtly and stealthy-like he just busts in all gangbusters style and while he does get to hand out a few beat downs they bad guys do get away with Sara in a nondescript van. I was happy to see Linc blow this rescue attempt. Michael really needs to remain the smart one on the show, it’s his job.

Anyway, I found something in this episode that's been disturbing me...we never see Sara's face. Sure, we see her in the photo, but we never see her actual face. We saw AJ, but all we heard was Sara's voice. I'm not sure what this means, but it just keeps bugging me.
I like the 'Se7en' style ending of this episode, but I hate the cliffhanger of not knowing what's in the f**king box. Chances are we won't find out until quite a ways into next weeks episode.
