If you're a sucker for watching silly teenagers die horrible deaths and you plan on seeing One Missed Call this weekend, we've been told you're likely going to see the trailer for the remake of Prom Night beforehand. Sony Screen Gems has ordered the first trailer for their upcoming remake attached to this weekend's only new wide release. It should be noted that we can expect an online trailer very soon too, most likely in the next day or so...The remake stars Brittany Snow, Johnathon Schaech, Dana Davis, Jessica Stroup, Scott Porter, Collins Pennie, Kelly Blatz and Ming-Na. Nelson McCormick handled the directing duties, based around a screenplay written by J S Cardone.

Plot Summary: Donna's senior prom is supposed to be the best night of her life, one of magic, beauty, and love. Surrounded by her best frinds, she should be safe from the horrors of her past. But when the night turns from magic to murder there is only one man who could be responsible...the man she thought was gone forever. Now, Donna and her friends must find a way to escape the sadistic rampage of a killer, and survive their Prom Night.

Prom Night will hit theaters April 11, 2008.

Here's the poster and pics released thus far...

Since Hollywood is on a remake rampage how about a remake of "The Gate" and "Scanners" to bring back some classic 80s horror

The Original Prom Night Ruled with Jaimie Lee!

Here here dallaswinston!
Brittany Snow has a lot to prove. She may look hot but Jamie Lee was the "Scream Queen" for a reason. We'll see what she can do. I for one will be renting this. Unless you guys say otherwise. I wonder if this is going to be another one of those PG-13 movies that draws the teenie-boppers.
I went to the theatres to see a good movie, or so I was told, to find it sold out and so I optioned for one of these scarry PG-13 movies to find the theatre filled with giggling teenage girls and wanna-be macho teenage boys making dumb comments to the trailers to impress their girlfriends. I didn't even make it to the feature before walking out and getting my money back. Needless to say, I went home and poured a jar of honey in my crotch and sat on an ant hill and had a better time.

Scanners IS being remade.

I vote for a Prince of Darkness remake. Done properly, it could be really good.

The original Prom Night kind of kicked off the whole "whodunit" mystery style with teen slasher flicks. Jamie Lee Curtis was great, especially the very last part, but the whole movie was still kinda "meh" (but it was probably cool when originally released). I'm guessing it'll still be "meh" unless they go with a hard R, which is unlikely in the current climate of PG13 teen "horror" films.

The only thing I've seen Brittany Snow in was Hairspray, and she was pretty good in that, but it was all comedy, and we know she can sing, let's see how well she screams!

Did Brittany Murphy change her last name? Was MingNa in Final FantasySpirits within?

This movie looks like shit a PG 13 rating? what the fuck, it looks like the cast of JLA as well.

The original scared me shitless, more than Dominique is dead ( great movie and Im surprised its not being remade).

This looks funnier then Brokeback Bush's Brain.
