A date, well a month, has been set for Ridley Scott’s sequel to Prometheus. The film, currently titled Prometheus 2, is slated for March 2016. Michael Green (Heroes, Smallville, The Green Lantern), who was working with Scott on a Blade Runner sequel is now working on a rewrite for the follow up.
“Multiple sources have told TheWrap that the ‘Untitled Ridley Scott Project’ that 20th Century Fox announced it will release in March 2016 is ‘Prometheus 2,’ although the film may not ultimately use that title. An insider told TheWrap that production is scheduled to start this fall, after Scott has delivered his Moses movie ‘Exodus’ to Fox”.
The current rumor on the sequel is that it will feature more of the traditional aliens we saw in Scott’s original film, Alien (1979). Michael Fassbender’s character, David, is also rumored to have multiple incarnations. If that is true, at least the ladies will check in for the prequel-sequel.
As for Blade Runner, Green is currently giving that script a final polish. No release date (month) has been scheduled yet.
