Oh HELL YES!!!! I absolutely LOVED Prometheus!!! One of my favorite modern movies! I definitely want a sequel!

And those who hated it or "didn't get it", OH WELL!!! Your loss!!!

I also really liked Prometheus. IMHO, I think it's waaaaaaaaay better than TDKR was.....

I wanted to like it, but there were too many stupidities in the portrayal of the "scientists". They enter an alien ship and almost immediately take off their one defense against alien microbes, bacteria, or even larger animals. They disect things in unisolated chambers. There's no sterilisation, no concern of any kind for contamination. The geologist and his friend playing with a creature whose abilities they have no idea of. The girl self aborted an alien then just minutes later was climbing and jumping around with just some stomach staples holding her insides in.

Some of the things I did like:

Charlize Theron's refusal to allow them back on the ship. That the one non-scientist in the crew realised the dangers just shows how badly the scientists are portrayed..

David's questioning of Charlie that allowed him to get around his programming (basically asking him how far he would go in the name of science, and getting the reply 'As far as I could') and infect Charlie with the alien organism.

Anything was better than TDKR.  That movie was just terrible.

Prometheus was a good movie. I loved it, and con not wait for more.

Their sensor machines told them the air was safe and breathable.

I imagine they disected things after sterilizing it and probably have all sorts of anti-bodiee for themselves or some other kind of vaccines we don't know about since it's the future. Whatever the answer is, they were all fine.

the geologist who was too friendly to the creature was pretty dumb, but he must be a dude that plays with a lot of new creatures, and has a lot of pets or something. Also in their universe, they dont have the Aliens or Predators movies and are not as aware of dangerous aliens as we are. But ya he was obvioulsy stupid, so ya, we can call him stupid still on that one.

During the self-abortion and after, she continued to inject herself with drugs which for all we know, are super painkillers energy boosters. If they can fly light years to another galaxy, im PRETTY sure they have advanced drugs like that. It's the FUTURE!

The scientists trying to help another scientist can be believable or non- believable for me.

and David is programmed or Ordered by his boss, Peter Weyland. Who is obvioulsy obsessed with getting shit done, getting results and seeing what happens before he kicks the bucket. So that was believable for me.

Just use your imagination like that yo! Dont let things like this get u down and angry.    =)

Yes Violator, American Gangster is dope.  Denzel as a gangster = WIN.

So the update is that there's no update.

I would think that they had  the stories for the trilogy mapped out already since Ridley pretty much said that sequels were in mind from the beginning. Get to work and put all your other rumored projects to the side already

I saw the movie in Imax 3-D and I bought the Blu-Ray (which actually played in my blu-ray player despite horror stories of flawed discs).  I loved the way it looked and sounded.  I've watched it a couple of more times at home.  I had a lot of hopes for this flick as i am a hardcore Sci-Fi fan and I've tried hard to like it, but I can't embrace the disjointed pretentious story.   I was however very impressed with Fassbender's performamce.  Like Wiseguy I thought Scott had an idea of where he planned to go with the sequel...but I think the criticism of Prometheus (not here but elsewhere) may have prompted him to go in a different direction or at least entertain a different concept.  I'll be there for the sequel, hoping that it's a step up from the original.

I spend more time on MTV Geek than Mania for Geeky genre news (no Nicole Kidman interviews, no Lincoln or Les Mis) but I prefer the comments here because the community is tighter (same dudes and dudettes in every thread) feels like a bunch of buds chewing the fat at a local bar.   For the most part this crowd worships at the Altar of all things Marvel which can get tiring but otherwise an interesting bunch.
