In my opinion the tables have turned. There are exceptions but for the most part television shows are better written, better directed, more interesting, more exciting and more intelligent than theatrical movies. I haven't seen any movie this year that can hold a candle to "Breaking Bad," "Dexter," "Boardwalk Empire," "Homeland," or "The Walking Dead."
Why then do I go to the movies? To see blockbuster $500,000,000, CGI driven, productions on the big screen with big sound preferably in IMAX 3-D where available. When I'm at the movies I don't care about the story (how much of a story can one tell in 2 hours), I don't care about the plot...I just want to be dazzled by the special effects.
The special effects in Prometheus dazzled me. As many have said...It's a visually beautiful movie.
As for the story... a little pretentious don't you think. I all ready know that the answer to the ultimate question, about life, the universe and everything is "42."
lets go back to the first ALIEN movie , where the " space jockey " was already in that chair , with its chest bursted open , how did it get there when it was killed on the other ship in this last movie ? an i guess all the human DNA disappeared by the time Ripleys crew got there ! perhaps a Weyland conspiracy lol
@DarthoftheDead, no that didn't happend to my profile, thats crazy did you fix it? by the way i was on youtube watching Videos of the making the new robocop movie cool shit..i guess murphy gets gun down at a dinner or something like that. ooops did i just spoil the best part of the new robocop movie? lol. my bad...looks like it's going to be a good movie i hope anyway..
