20th Century Fox has released an international TV spot that reveals NEW aliens for the movie Prometheus. Check out the spot below. If you are wise you will watch it once and move on. It contains a few spoilers.
Plot: Ridley Scott, director of Alien and Blade Runner, returns to the genre he helped define. With Prometheus, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Prometheus opens in theaters on June 8th, 2012.

Chest buster, anyone?

I've telling you guys, and I'm sticking to it.  Someone gets "infected" and mutates into one of the alien beings.  That's what that humanoid is that seems to be trying to kill them.

The Heart is Chestbursting with excitment! I just wish they stop showing new trailers, can't help myself. I feel like I practically saw the entire movie already! I know there's plenty more but theyre already playing on (most likely) the best parts of the film. Stop with the Trailers and let's bring Prometheus on. Definitely seeing this in 3D regardless. Most of it won't be in true 3D (most likely), more like the Computer interfaces, holographic projections and what not but I'm still game for it. I'll make an exception for forking over the extra cash, it will all be worth it.

VTGamehendge-Don't worry brah! We agree with you!! I think most of us probably thought the same thing. haha

It seems very close to his Alien. I mean the whole premise is a carbon copy of that movie with a more updated visual and plot development.

lets be serious good as this movie will be; WE HAVE ALL SEEN THIS BEFORE!

rag tag group of explorers- check

Big Freightor ship used for exploring-check

Landing on an alien world-check

Crew finds a mysterious alien structure- check

One of the crew gets infected by an alien parasite-check

Alien parasite bursts out of human host-check..err...maybe not but perhaps mutates into an alien?

Crew or whats left of it struggle to leave planet/detonate spaceship to stop alien-check

Something is afoot here guys because I dont think Ridley Scott would blantantly rip off his previous work unless there was a good reason ie. Plot thread to do so.

Done watching anything new. I'll resort to the same will power I deployed for The Avengers. I already feel like I may know too much, I'm leaving some suspense for my first viewing and letting Ridley amaze me

You could also say that we've seen the Alien movies done four times, which would also be true. Or that every movie ever made has elements of some other movie that was made before. Who cares if we've seen the basic construct of this plot before? Ridley Scott does not make bad epic movies.

I agree , showing too much of the movie and hope its not a retread of everything We saw before , but with new CGI effects. I have hopes for this film an will try not to watch any more trailers , its like eatting candy before dinner .....

Im not debating that a lot of movies have borrowed heavily from Alien but in this case its a freaking carbon copy...and its taking place in the same universe as ALIEN. thats why im thinking he is holding out on us in some way...

im sure he will connect the franchises in more ways than a " Weylan speach' at the beggining of the movie.

My guess is that they are going to borrow a line from the Dark Hourse comics Aliens follow up comic.

In the last panel of the original series it showed Ripley having a telepathic connection with one of the " elephant looking" aliens aka " the pilot" and he communicated with her. She then said that there intent all along was to conquer earth and the ship they where in was carrying the alien eggs to seed earth with to purge it of humans so they could take over earth< something like that>

Ill have to dig out the comic and re read it but yeah thats what the big aliens where up to. They aint nice aliens that got killed by the Bugs...they had an agenda folks..which is evident in the trailers for Promethius.

Well, and Alien borrowed heavily from other mediums, particular Cronenberg's 'Shivers'. Prometheus is still totally different. Instead of a crew of unaware ore miners being woken up and told to check something out on their way home, this time it's a group of specialists preparing to come to this place for an archaelogical excavation. As we can tell, something goes horribly wrong involving parasites and bodies being taken over, and we've seen that plot a hundred times before. I'd hardly call this a carbon copy. The approach is similar but with entirely different goals. What happens to the crew and how the company manages to cover up the events is one of the main draws, not just how these people will survive.

Scott's already made good on the connections. The creepy android, the technology styles, the fact that the derelict spacecraft from the first movie is seen crashing on the planet. You can bet that the Company didn't just hone in on the beacon, they were looking for this ship. I expect there will be a reason that they knew exactly what they would find and it will be seen in this film. Scott is obviously not the type of guy to reapproach something unless he's got a damn good reason to do so, and when it comes to epics, he's untouchable.
