Screenwriter Mark Protosevich has landed the job of tipping over a cruise liner -- again. The writer of
THE CELL has been hired to pen the remake of
THE POSEIDEON ADVENTURE, currently in development at Warner Bros. by producer Mike Fleiss and Wolfgang Petersen. Protosevich has turned in drafts of Richard Matheson's classic vampire novel
I AM LEGEND, Robert Heinlein's
STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND and Edgar Rice Burroughs'
A PRINCESS OF MARS, all of which are still in various development stages.
The
POSEIDON remake will follow the same storyline as the original Irwin Allen 1972 picture: a giant tidal wave will capsize an passenger liner and the survivors must make their way to the hull of the vessel (which is now floating on the surface of the ocean) before water floods the remainder of the ship.
