We've had two minor updates from co-stars regarding Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. One from Singer's original X-Men trilogy while the other was recently introduced into the franchise via Matthew Vaughn's 2011 prequel X-Men: First Class

After recently speaking to Halle Berry, Shadow and Act revealed the Oscar-winning actress was pretty sure she was reuniting with Singer and returning to the role of Storm.

"She did confirm to me that she would be returning in the role. Most likely. Practically 90% sure. And she nodded a lot too. I can't say, and neither could she say that it's definitely a done deal, and that the contracts have all been signed, with all the "i"s dotted and the "t"s crossed. A few details that are still being negotiated which she couldn't get into. But since she did tell me that the film starts shooting in April, it's highly unlikely that talks are going to suddenly and horribly fall apart at this point, and the producers have to scramble to find a replacement at the very last minute."

Jennifer Lawrence also updated E Online! this week by saying the plan to begin shooting X-Men: Days of Future Past is still set for May even though she hasn't had a chance to read the script. That and she won't have to deal with so much body paint this time around...

"I'm so excited because I'm going to wear a body suit. It will be from neck down so it will cut out time and the blisters." The body paint caused her to have skin irritations and a doctor even had to be called to the set.

Regarding the production start, she reveals; "May-ish. I haven't read the script yet. I haven't had 30 minutes. They literally gave me the script and I was like, 'I can't read this until Monday.'"

If Berry signs on board, she will star alongside Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore and Peter Dinklage. Bryan Singer is returning to the directing duties, based on a screenplay by Simon Kinberg.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is set for July 18, 2014.

I did'nt know Anna  Paquin was returning for this one. . .I hope this time around Rogue will have all her cool superpowers and not just the absorbing one.

I like the way this is shaping up... sorta.  I really liked the vibe/feel of 1st class, but don't know how well it will mesh with all of the worlds colliding.  This sounds to be promising, and we will see how it all turns out.

What other powers does Rogue have? I thought she just absorbed and used others' powers.

violator14 3/1/2013 11:49:46 PM

In the comics and that cartoon series, she had completely absorbed and Killed Ms. Marvel therefore permanently jacking her powers of super strength and flight. She was pretty powerful and a key warrior when it came to fukking shit up...... U know what, you wanna know a lil secret??  I'm so drunk rt now....

I'm stoked for this.  Sounds AWESOME!  If Singer can pull off another 'X2', this movie is going to rule...

Yeah I'm actually trying to put my prejudices aside and I'm sort of looking forward to this. It does sound pretty cool

Unless Berry's role is brief & involves Storm getting smashed by a Sentinel, leave her out. She hogs screen time & brings very little to the movies.

This movie may have to be 3 &1/2 hours to do the scope justice. I'm ok with that as long as it's as good as First Class.

I think of it this way, every X-men movie had the potential to be The Avengers. You have different heroes with different powers and abilities working together with rough patches. Now, they are playing catch up. They want to give The Avengers a run for their money and they might just get there because now the characters are established, there is no introduction/origin period. We can just start in on the story and these characters and if every one gets their due like their promising, it should be great. There are about as many oscars nominees/winners in both franchises so bad acting shouldn't be a's up to the material

Yeah, kswizzle, but the big problem that I see here is that Singer is at the helm again.
