Singer's original tweet was "before he was an Avenger". He then deleted that part and retweeted.

@axia

A lot of us here want the rights to go back to Marvel. But what if that happens? Can Disney/Marvel produce that many comicbook movies? Surely by having all of their characters, some will be pushed back (see Daredevil, Punisher, Blade).

Or maybe if they would get the rights, have one of their other studios take control (like Touchstone Pictures) to stay seperate of the MCU but at the same time, have control over their material.

I wonder if this will open a bigger can of worms than we think?

axia777 5/27/2013 8:46:28 AM

No. X-Men should be part of the whole MCU.

Wiseguy 5/27/2013 9:01:21 AM

Well ElBaz that's what I've always maintained, the silver lining of having some characters licensed out is that we're getting 3 to 4 Marvel films a year.

If Marvel gets everything in-house the price the fans pay is less output. The benefit? more awesomeness per film.

I think if Fox would set the X-Men straight I'd be okay with them keeping the mutants. Just give up on the FF.

For long periods of time, heck during most of my life X-Men and the rest of the MCU seemed to inhabit separate worlds anyway. Any comic book reader would agree, sure as of late they've become more intertwined but has rarely been the case in general

@Wise - "For long periods of time, heck during most of my life X-Men and the rest of the MCU seemed to inhabit separate worlds anyway."\ -

That is bullsh*t.  There are so many cross over with the X-men and every other comic in the MCU is is nuts.  I've been reading the X-Men since about 84 and I calling that this is not true in any case at all.

Cross overs are one time things they do with all character and lines, it's like bumping into someone for a minute. Those are the exceptions. I could go ages reading X-Men without any hint of the rest of the MCU.

The interactions with the rest of the MCU have been very limited.

So here I am calling bullshit on you.

axia777 5/27/2013 9:38:27 AM

Here are more cross over with the X-Men and the MCU:

The Evolutionary War
House of M
Maximum Security
Onslaught
Bloodies
Child's Play
Day's of Future Present
Escape From the Negative Zone
Exiled
Fall of the hammer
Kings of Pain
Live Kree of Die
The Siege of Wundagore
Utopia

Wiseguy 5/27/2013 9:38:54 AM

Most, the VAST majority, of all X events don't have nothing to do with the rest of Marvel.

Yeah over 70 years there are company crossovers. But like I said I was reading X-Men for long periods of time without any other Marvel book and didn't need to know nor would it involve any outside character.

Even a big event like the Civil War to name the biggest in a while was devoid of the X-Men mostly.

axia777 5/27/2013 9:43:43 AM

Dude, most if not all of those cross over happen with the Avengers.  It is simple, the X-Men belong with the rest of the MCU, period.

axia777 5/27/2013 9:45:04 AM

 That and the FF4.
