According to WB, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson have all signed on to reprise their roles as teen wizards Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, respectively, in the remaining films of the series.

"When Daniel, Rupert and Emma were first cast as Harry, Ron and Hermione, we knew they were not only talented, but had a very special chemistry," said Jeff Robinov, President of Production.  "Through the years, and in each of the 'Harry Potter' films, we have watched them grow into extraordinary young adults, as well as remarkable actors. It would be inconceivable to imagine anyone else in the roles with which they have become so identified, so we are thrilled and proud that Daniel, Rupert and Emma have chosen to complete the arc of their characters in the final two films."

Each actor had a statement about the news:

Daniel Radcliffe said, "Playing the role of Harry Potter has been an immense privilege, and I look forward to completing the series. I feel a huge sense of loyalty to the character of Harry and the fans who have supported these films over the years. During filming, I have learnt so much, made lots of friends and met people who have changed my life. I am indebted to J.K. Rowling, Warner Bros. and David Heyman for giving me this fantastic opportunity."

Emma Watson said, "I could never let Hermione go--she is my hero! I love her too much and love what playing her has meant to me. I am excited and honoured to be finishing what I started and playing her in all seven of the films."

Rupert Grint said, "Ron Weasley has become a big part of my life and not just because we've both got ginger hair! I've been so proud to play him and loved every second of being part of this world. I'm really looking forward to filming the last two films and being back with my 'Weasley family' and, of course, to seeing my good friends Emma and Dan. Thank you to everyone for being so supportive over the years; we couldn't have done it without you."

KJ's Take:  Great news!!!!!  Now the wait for the next film continues.

So much for Emma Watson leaving her role.

WOW!! Shocking, I sure hope Watson doesn't get typecast!? I'm actually glad they will be kept intact, but you have to wonder about the accuracy of previous reports and how much is just internet banter.

Previous reports may well have been speculation based on some quotes or what-not.

This does make me happy, and I still wish the entire cast all the best in future, non-HP arenas.

Watson's performance and Hagrid is why I even remotely got attached to the film. Sure she'll get a bit type-casted, but other rolls away from Harry Potter will mend that. I see her having a successful career.

Dear Emma.

WHEW! Good to hear that the last article I saw on this website was only the trife that only a stupid TABLOID would publish!

Saying that, if it was ever true that she wanted out, I am glad she made the desision to stay.

NOW the BIG Question to all you Potter Fans, will you eat up that 7th book that comes out 8 days after the release of the 5th movie? you know, I am not going to read it, the movie will be better.

2007 is shaping up to be an awesome Movie year!

I was glad to hear this. I know I would have enjoyed the movies no matter what, but for the sake of continuity I'm glad It's all the same three. When Harris died it was a huge loss (not just for the movie of course).

Yeah, this is good news. I like Almost would have enjoyed the flicks anyway, but it is good she and the rest are staying. I have never read the books, but I do enjoy the movies. I was watching, Late Night with Jonathon Ross the other day and Radcliffe was on. They were showing pictures of all three when they first started. It is so crazy to see them through all these movies, kind of watching them grow up and its cool they are all ending it together.

It's funny how Grint stated that Watson doesn't really speak to Radcliffe or Rupert any longer...but now everything's all fuzzy, happy go lucky.

Press releases. Pfft.
