I've never been a Superman fan.  I think the only stuff I have is the Byrne Man of Steel reboot issues.

She is reading Avengers Academy.  We thought the first issue was okay.  it does suck that Pym goes from leading his own team and elevated to leading man in the book and overall made me interested in him for the first time ever, and now he's one of 5 or 6 teachers and 6 annoying students.  seems like they should capitalize on (from what I've heard) the good word of mouth on him from Mighty.

I've heard Bendis say that they're planning on touching all the futures of Marvel in this story.  Next Avengers, Future Imperfect, Old Man Logan, Days of Futures Past.  Could be good

Hey, I actually made it to the shop today so I might as well spin the ol' rack myself.  Here's what I picked up...

Dynamo 5 #1 - liked the original series, figured I'd give this one a shot.  Plus, we review a lot of DC and Marvel and I thought it might be good to give an Image book a shot.

Franken-Castle #18 - don't say it, lister.  Don't say it.  ;)

Fantastic Four #580 - this book has been one of my faves since Hickman took over

Detective Comics # 866

Green Lantern Corps #49

Billy Batson & the Power of Shazam! #17 - an awesome all-ages title.  Trust me.

Joe the Barbarian #6 - it's been good, but not as good as those first few issues.  I'm thinking this will read better collected

Superman #700 - This is the only book I've read thus far this week and I'll have a review up Thursday or Friday.  Jedibanner, you're too kind in your review.  I wouldn't wipe my dog's a$$ with this issue.

C'mon guys, the book of the week is American Vampire #4 and not a one of you has it on your list.

Coincidentally, I was thinking about how much of my reading is becoming like Vertigo, Avatar, and the like.  Have I finally graduated into comic book snob after more than a decade.  Do I have to talk about how Sandman is the best thing ever, dye my hair black and trash it with scissors, listen to fallout boy and talk about how lame and boring everything is?

Do I have to become emo now?

Thank GOD it looks like there's just something wrong with Simon in Avengers #2 or he has a bit of future knowledge or something. I just could not make Wonder Man returning to bad-guy-dom work inside my head.

FF was... interesting. The stuff with the Foundation was where the meat of the story ended up being, but the toy store fight went by way too quickly and was a bit of a let-down. They should have used all those Nu-World pages (man, I hate Nu-World) to flesh out the main action story. I mean, Franklin, Johnny, Leech and Impossible Man in a team-up? That should have been epic.

The problem was Arcade. He only had one part to his master plan. And his master plan was, well... what was the plan exactly?? Some sort of Halloween III: Season of the Witch tribute? Silver shamrocks, that was weak!

lister, I am an unashamed Kevin Smith fan...so sue me...I like what I like.

Ben, I had American Vampire on my list.  I haven't picked it up yet because I'm a little over a month behind, but I've read the first two issues and enjoyed them immensely.

I'm behind on Fantastic Four, but I have been enjoying the Hickman stuff

I have an unexplained, complete and utter joy for Arcade as a character.  He must have been in one of the first comics I read or something, can't get enough of him.

Teddy - So you did.  My apologies.

cdale - I hear you.  I feel the same way about Rad Racer.

I like Arcade at lot, too. I don't think this was a good use of his wit or his machinations. What was your guys'/gals' opinion of him in this issue of FF?
