With questions swirling on the internet about who might be involved in the next 'Spider-Man' movie director Sam Raimi told IGN.com that he's excited about the direction of the storyline for 'Spider-Man 4' is taking, and seemed very positive about the idea returning to the franchise.
"Right now James Vanderbilt is writing the script and he's working on it and I'm excited to read it. I think it's going to be done in a few months," Raimi told IGN.
He added, "I'm hoping it's going to be as great as our discussions were about it, and I'm hoping that it feels right for me because I love Spider-Man. I'm hoping I'm well enough rested to really embrace it and hoping at that time that Sony wants me to direct it. So if all those things come together I would love, love, love to do it. There are a lot of unknowns about the future."
The director also addressed the idea that Tobey Maguire may not return. Raimi said he's hate to recast the role. "I couldn't imagine that."
