Sam Raimi & Rob Tapert's Ghost House Pictures have picked up the rights to the video game SIREN from SCE Worldwide Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment's worldwide game development studios.

The movie will center on an American medical school student who goes searching for her missing sister in Japan. She begins her investigation in the remote mountain village of Hanuda, only to find herself trapped with an unspeakable evil that can no longer be contained.

Michael Gordon will write the script. Gordon will consult with the game's director, Keiichiro Toyama. Raimi, Tapert and Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee and Doug Davison will produce.

Hey, as long as Uwe Boll isn't directing, I'm happy.

Looks like Raimi has a taste for Japan. I liked the way the American Grudge was done, with an American going to Japan, being immersed in their culture, essesntially keeping the film Japanese, but with a central character that American audiences could relate to and thus connect with the film as a whole. Hopefully Raimi can keep the success going (especially with a video game movie).

Why is the evil always unspeakable. I get tired of that saying. Don't get me wrong I like the whole Vo . . . oops I mean "he who can not be named" character from Harry Potter.

It's "unspeakable" because they lack a robust vocabulary which with to adequately categorize and characterize the great evil with which they are afflicted...

...because they are stupid and like that lame expression.

They could call it supersize evil...evil with chesse. Evil hold the mayo. Would you like fries with your evil?
