Raimi's Ghost House & Mandate Agree to BURST

Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert's Ghost House Productions has been building a resume of low budget horror affairs for the past few years. Now, it looks like their expanding outside the horror genre into extraterrestrial territory according to Ryan Rotten. The duo's production company and Mandate Pictures have agreed to a new vehicle called BURST.

While no real plot has been given, the source did reveal a theme that sounds very close to crossing Slither with a setting like 30 Days of Night. (snow storm)

"An isolated town endures an alien invasion that causes victims to spontaneously combust during a severe snowstorm."

When more info comes in, I'll pass it along.

have either of you two seen Tobe Hoopers Spontanious Combustion? its a wild B-Movie about two parents that volunteered for experiments back in the 30's and 40's, they were the only two that were married out of like 500 (who are all dead now) but they had a son and passed the spontanious combustion on and 20 or 30 years later he's all grown up and learns to control it... like I said its pretty freaky.
By the way, dispite numerous cases on Spontanious Human Combustion no one has proven it 100% and no one has 100% re-created the effects left behind. it doesnt happen very often but apparantly there are chemical compounts inside us that are similar to a rocket fuel compound, which is highly unstable when mixed properly. theres about a dozen different theories floating around on it. Check Wikipedia.
