Though it's been in development for quite some time, only now has a writer been attached to write the script for Paramount's big screen version of Tom Clancy's RAINBOW SIX.

Scribe Art Monterastelli (HIGH INCIDENT, THE HUNTED) has been tapped to write the script, which focuses on John Clark, a character who appeared in the Jack Ryan books, THE CARDINAL IN THE KREMLIN, WITHOUT REMORSE, and CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER, the latter of which was made into a film with Willem Dafoe playing Clark. Clark is an ex-CIA man who creates an elite anti-terrorist organization called "Rainbow", with none of the niceties of traditional military and/or police techniques.

Besides giving details of the organization, the book focuses on a billionaire who is working on a plan to hatch an Ebola virus strain that would wipe out most of humanity. His goal is to return the planet back to what he feels was its natural state of being.
