Star of MY FAVORITE MARTIAN Dies at 86.

Ray Walston, the man who played Uncle Martin on My Favorite Martian back in 1963 and continued to work in science fiction and fantasy among other roles (including Mr. Hand in Fast Times at Ridgemont High) in film and television, has died of a short illness at the age of 86. Although he had a varied career, he is known to to a younger generation of Star Trek fans as the grouchy but lovable Boothby, and he also appeared in the television adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand.
